![]() ![]() That's how far you are East/West of zero, how deep from the surface, and how far North/South you are of zero. The coordinates are displayed in a X/Z/Y format for some reason. ![]() You can hit F1 to see the debug display and it will give exact coordinates (handy if you have printed off one of the blank maps from the Wiki). That's going to be really helpful later, trust me.Īlright, let's see where we are. Don't worry about using it up, it makes a new one every thirty minutes of game time, for free. Open your inventory and use the kit to heal yourself to 100%. Bleeding in the water is probably a bad idea, right? Open the First Aid Dispenser on the wall to your left, and grab the kit from it. Besides, they taste like sawdust and old sweat socks. If something goes wrong, and your food level drops below 25%, eat one of the nutrition blocks to fill up, but you should have plenty of food soon. Don't bother with any of them right now, there's plenty of food and water around. You'll see we start with 2 flares, 2 bottles of water, and 2 tasteless but powerful nutrition bars. Open the locker under the big computer display, and put the extinguisher inside. You start with one piece of gear (the extinguisher), a moderate wound to the head, you're really hungry and a little thirsty.įirst, let's stow that useless extinguisher and see what the lifepod has for supplies. This will create a huge radiation zone that can kill you in a hurry, if you don't have the right protection and swim into it by accident. Another little problem is that in a little while, about fifteen minutes of real time, the Aurora is going to blow up. ![]() ![]() After that, every second of real time that passes, your hunger and water levels will drop until you reach 0% in either one – and die. Or you meant the one in front of the Aurora, as it`s patrol route takes it a bit left? But you will never meet it if you use gap in the broken part.I always try to obtain the basic gear for survival in the first ten minutes of the game, and this short guide explains one way to do it.Īs soon as you complete the intro cut scene and put out the fire, the PDA boots up to speak to you and the game officially starts. There`s one to the left, but far away - you need to swim like 200m to meet it. Depending on approach you might bump into the one that patrols towards the rear (it seems to like the area near the kelp forest). The left hand surface route I think has the most likely chance of avoiding them - largely because you skip the one at the front of the Aurora (assuming you use the gap in the hull) and the one patrolling the left side tends to be a little too deep to bother you on the surface. Also worth noting the Aurora run deliberately screws with you - normally it's easy to tell if there's a Reaper in the area because they make a constant, distinctive noise. Originally posted by archonsod:To be fair whichever way you head to the Aurora you pass over at least two Reaper patrol areas so it's partially luck whether you need to deal with them or not. In my expirience Reapers are easy to avoid as long you see it first, and key to that is always been in a position where there are a finate number of directions on can come from (think of it like being a mafia don who always wants his back to a wall in a restaurant). You should have plenty of time to notice if a Reaper get's into visual range and if it do just stop and if needed back off slowly and it should pat away before it notices you. I've never run into Reapers doing it this way, though they do patrol that area so it is possible, so I proceed with an overabundance of caution every time. Do it this way and you SHOULDN'T have any trouble. As soon as you can slip in to the ruined structure do so and immediately beach the seamoth on the partial submerged platform. Keep hugging the hull near the surface go slow and keep eye to your left and below you and an ear out. You can then hug the hull and proceed forward a ways still in the shallows but it will drop off eventually exposing you deep water for about the last third of the distance. You can follow the shallow ridge from the starting area all the way to the portside hull of the Aurora, never going into deep water. ![]()
